Bahá'ís believe that God's guidance for humanity is communicated at various times through His Messengers according to the needs of the age. This concept is known as Progressive Revelation. Each successive divine faith builds upon the foundation laid by previous ones, and introduces new concepts based on humanity's growing capacity for knowledge. The Buddhist Faith, for example, elaborates on spiritual concepts and teachings introduced earlier in the Hindu Faith. While many centuries apart, Moses, Christ and Muhammad similarly based Their teachings around the central theme of God's Covenant with Abraham.

Although the world's faiths may appear different in some of their social laws and principles depending on the existing conditions and belief systems of their native cultures, they all remind us of the very same eternal and unchanging divine truths. They also promise the coming of a future age of peace, and the establishment of a world civilization where conflicts and wars would cease and when humanity as a whole would reach its maturity.

The Bahá'í Faith proclaims that we are now at the dawn of that promised age. For the first time in history, the unification of the human family and the building of a peaceful global society are within our reach.
